Kimberly Barnes Yamauchi, MPA

Kimberly Barnes Yamauchi is the Program Assistant, student recruiter, faculty member at the ʻImi Hoʻōla Post-Baccalaureate program at UH JABSOM.  She also assists pathway efforts for JABSOM’s Native Hawaiian Center of Excellence.   She brings with her over 15 years of experience working at the John A. Burns School of Medicine specifically in the area of recruitment and retention of underserved and indigenous students in Hawaiʻi and the U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands.

Born in Belau but raised in Saipan, Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Northern California, Kim is of Chamorro, Carolinian, and Caucasian descent. She is a graduate of Marianas High School on Saipan and moved to Hawaii receiving her Bachelor’s in Communication and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.
